Bigfoot Challenge 5K Flag Day Run/Walk
The Bigfoot Challenge 5K Flag Day Run/Walk takes place at Buffalo Creek Park in Palmetto, Florida. This event celebrates Flag Day and supports local veterans programs and youth running initiatives. The course for the primary race consists of one loop around the park on a paved trail, followed by an out and back route on sidewalks and side roads.
Participants can choose from several event distances and formats:
- 5k Run/Walk: A chip-timed race on a mixed paved trail and road course.
- Park Loop Run (0.8 miles): A shorter distance following the park loop.
- Little Foot Kids Dash (12 & Under): A short out and back sprint for children.
- Virtual 5k: An option to participate remotely.
- Volunteer and Run 5K: A combined participation and service option.
All participants receive a finishing medal and a themed T-shirt. The 5k race features professional timing with live results provided online and via text or email. Trophies are awarded to overall and masters winners, with additional awards for the top three finishers in various age groups ranging from 12 and under to 80 and over.
