Big River Adventure
The Big River Adventure is the 26th annual multi-sport event at Big River State Park, Big River Beach Boat Launch in Mendocino, California on May 30, 2026. The event is organized by Cancer Resource Centers of Mendocino County as a fundraising event to honor and remember those impacted by cancer and to raise funds for free services for people facing cancer in Mendocino County.
Activities take place along the Big River corridor and start at the boat launch. The event offers multiple options for participants:
- Kiddie Race - begins at the boat launch
- 5K Run - east on the haul road to the 5K turnaround
- 10K Run - east on the haul road to the 10K turnaround
- Big River Swim - swim east up Big River from the boat launch
- Big River Paddle - paddle east up Big River, participants must bring their own vessel
- 5K Fun Walk - follows the 5K runners route
Registration fees listed by the organizer include a $10 fee for the Kiddie Race and $35 fees for most other events. Participants aged 6 to 17 may enter any race division at a discounted rate of $20 at signup. Registration opens November 16, 2025 and closes May 30, 2026. To keep the event affordable and accessible, no participant t-shirts will be provided this year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
