Big Red and Barbacoa 5K Run/Walk - San Antonio
The Big Red and Barbacoa 5K Run/Walk takes place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Comanche Park Pavilion #2, 2600 Rigsby Ave, San Antonio, TX 78210. The course follows the Salado Greenway and the event includes an after party with Big Red soda, barbacoa tacos and live music. This is the 8th annual running of the event; organizers have partnered with IAAP and plan the event as a fundraiser. All proceeds will benefit SA Eagles Athletics Club.
Packet pick up is scheduled the Thursday before the race at McIntyre's Southtown, with race-day packet pick up available at the venue. A free kids run is part of the event. Finishers receive medals and award medals are given in ten-year age groups. The event lists reduced pricing for students aged 17 and under and a lower adult rate for participants aged 70 and above. Registration fees rise over time from an early bird rate up to a higher race day rate; shirt size is guaranteed for registrations completed by June 5. The event states a no refunds policy.
