Big Red and Barbacoa 5K Run/Walk : San Antonio
The 8th Annual Big Red and Barbacoa 5K is a community 5K run/walk along the Salado Greenway in San Antonio. The event takes place at Comanche Park Pavilion #2, 2600 Rigsby Ave, and includes a short free kids run in addition to the main 5K.
Organizers partnered with IAAP and state that proceeds from the event will benefit SA Eagles Athletics Club. Packet pick up is planned the week before the event and on race day; the off-site packet pick up location is to be determined.
Finisher recognition includes medals for the first 500 finishers and award medals given in 10-year age groups. Registration fees vary by registration period and participant age: a reduced student rate is listed for those 17 and under, and a specified rate applies to participants age 70 and above. Shirt availability is limited and shirts are only guaranteed for registrations completed by June 5.
