Big Pirate Run : Overview
The Big Pirate Run takes place at Garry Point Park in Richmond on September 19, 2026. The event offers a themed set of distances including a short kids run made of 1 km loops. Main routes run along the West Dyke and Middle Arm Trails on stable gravel with minimal inclines. The course is pet friendly for leashed dogs and allows strollers.
Registration includes a personalised running bib with a custom "Pirate Name", a costume item, and a wooden finishers medal. Chip timing is provided for distances from 5 km to 21.1 km. On-course services include a water station, entertainment, and door prize opportunities. Participants must complete their route within 2 hours 30 minutes, or within 3 hours for the half marathon.
Race kits can be picked up in advance at Burnaby Kintec or at Richmond Food Bank, or on event day for a convenience fee.
