About the race
The Big Pirate Run is the 5th annual themed run at Garry Point Park in Richmond, BC on September 19, 2026. Routes run along the West Dyke and Middle Arm Trails and include a short Little Pirate Run/Walk around Garry Point Park.

- 5 km
- 10 km
- 15 km
- 21.1 km half marathon
Registration items include a personalised running bib with a custom "Pirate Name", a wooden finishers medal, a costume item, a measured route and chip timing for the 5 km to 21.1 km distances. The event provides a water station, entertainment and a chance to win door prizes. Most prizes come from BC or Vancouver businesses and may be substituted with a future event entry if prizes cannot be redeemed by winners outside the area.
The course uses mostly stable gravel trails with minimal inclines. The route is described as pet and stroller friendly. Participants on most routes must complete the course within 2 hours 30 minutes; 21.1 km participants have a 3 hour limit.
Location details note limited parking at Garry Point Park and access by local transit and bicycle. Early bird entry fees start from $22 for the kids run.
