The Big Pirate Run
The Big Pirate Run is a themed costume run taking place at Garry Point Park. This is the 5th annual edition of the event. Several running distances are offered for participants.

Event Details
The event is held on September 19, 2026. The courses use the West Dyke and Middle Arm Trails, as well as the paths around scenic Garry Point Park. The route is described as having minimal inclines and stable gravel trails. The event is advertised as stroller and leashed dog friendly.
Registration includes a personalized running bib with a custom pirate name, a wooden finisher's medal, and a costume item. Chip timing is provided for the 5 km to 21.1 km distances. A water station and entertainment are available on site.
Early bird pricing starts at $22 for the 1-3 km kids run, and goes up to $50 for the half marathon. Discounts are available for group bundles of 4 or more. Participants under 18 receive a maximum entry fee of $29 for the 5 km and 10 km routes.
Packet pickup is available in advance in Burnaby or Richmond, or on event day for a convenience fee. The event is supporting the Richmond Food Bank Society. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
