Big Mack Sprint Triathlon
The Big Mack Sprint Triathlon is a multisport event held at Lake Cammack Park and Marina in Burlington, North Carolina. Part of the Trivium Multisport Series, the event provides participants with a rare opportunity to swim in a protected lake that is typically closed to the public. The competition features a time trial start format to ensure a steady flow of athletes onto the course and reduced congestion.
The race utilizes local infrastructure and natural surroundings, including a bike course set on quiet rural roads and a shaded run course that stays within the park grounds. Participant options include several categories for the triathlon, as well as duathlon and aquabike formats. Athletes may compete individually or as part of a relay team.
Available distances and formats include:
- Sprint Triathlon: 750-meter swim, 14.8-mile bike, and 5-kilometer run.
- Sprint Duathlon: 2-mile run, 14.8-mile bike, and 5-kilometer run.
- Sprint Aquabike: 750-meter swim and 14.8-mile bike.
