About the race
Big Bear SquaTCh South, a Sassquad Trail Running event in Harriman State Park, Tuxedo, New York, features a challenging pair of trail races: a 13.1-mile half marathon and a 10K, starting and finishing at Powerhouse Park. The single-loop courses are rugged and technical, with 2,200+ ft of gain on the half and about 1,200 ft on the 10K, including rocky climbs, roots, and a scramble. Marked with neon pink ribbons and large arrows, the routes offer Hudson Valley views, especially in fall.
The event supports the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference and includes a family-friendly trail party HQ, handcrafted wood medals, a 5-hour cutoff, and a cap at 175 participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
