Big Bang Mile and Science Festival
The Big Bang Mile and Science Festival is scheduled for July 18, 2026 at Bell Works, 101 Crawfords Corner Rd, Holmdel, NJ. The event is organized as multiple one mile heats on a flat, fast USATF certified course run on closed roads.
Heats include masters age categories, open men and open women, a high school and middle school mile, a community run/walk and youth U12 mile, and a fitness team mile. Several heats may serve as USATF-NJ 1 Mile Road Championship races for open and masters divisions. Team competition is available for specified heats; teams must have at least three contestants and are created through the race website with no creation fee.
Registration pricing and deadlines are specified in advance. Early registration pricing applies through March 31, with incremental increases afterward and final registration closing on July 17, 2026. Race day registration is not available. Custom event T-shirts are optional for an additional fee and sizes are guaranteed only if ordered by June 15.
Safety and conduct rules include no animals or headphones in any heat and strollers permitted only in the community race. Portions of entry fees from the community and certain team categories will be donated to Holmdel Youth Athletic Association. Awards and cash bonuses are offered across open, masters and age group categories, with specific eligibility and prize conditions defined by the organizers.
