Big Bang Mile and Science Festival
The Big Bang Mile is scheduled for July 18, 2026 at Bell Works in Holmdel, New Jersey. The event features multiple one mile heats covering masters age groups, open men and women, a high school and middle school mile, a community run and youth U12 mile, and a fitness team mile for office, bar, restaurant, gym and family teams. The course is described as flat and fast and is USATF certified on closed roads.
Registration pricing is tiered: an early bird price of $20 is in effect through March 31, rising to $25 from April 1 through May 31 and to $30 beginning June 1. Registration closes July 17, 2026 and there is no race day registration. A custom event T shirt is optional for $12 and size availability is guaranteed only for orders placed before June 15.
Team entries for the high school, middle school and fitness miles are created online with no fee. Teams require a minimum of three contestants and only registered runners may be added. Family teams may enter participants on two eligible teams when permitted.
Safety and event rules include no animals or headphones in any heat and strollers allowed only in the community run. Awards include age group medals, team awards, and cash or merchandise awards for top open and masters finishers. Certain entries and teams generate donations to the local youth athletic association.
