Event overview
The Bidwell Classic is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Sycamore Field / One Mile Recreation Area in Lower Bidwell Park, Chico, CA. The event offers three race distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 10k Run/Walk
- Half Marathon
This edition marks a celebration of 50 years of running in Bidwell Park. A portion of entry fees supports local high school cross country programs. The race will offer a cash purse for the top male and female finishers in each event.
Course, timing and services
The 5K and 10k courses are described as flat, paved, and free of traffic. The half marathon includes a quarter-mile of single-track trail on each loop. All events start and finish at the One Mile Recreation Area. Timing is provided by Bizz Johnson Racing using a gun start and chip finish.
Aid stations and restrooms are provided on course: 6 aid stations for the half marathon, 3 for the 10k and 2 for the 5k. Restrooms are located at One Mile recreation (north and south of the pool), Cedar Grove Park, and Pettersen Drive park entrance, with portable restrooms at the start and finish.
Packet pickup is available Friday, March 6 (10:00am–4:00pm) at Fleet Feet Chico (241 Main St.) and race-day pickup at the Fleet Feet tent (6:45am–7:45am). Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Race shirts are guaranteed for registrations received by February 6, 2026. Age-group awards and finisher medals for the half marathon are provided.
