Event overview
The Bidwell Classic takes place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Sycamore Field in Chico, California. The event offers three distances as run or fun walk options:
- 5K
- 10k
- Half Marathon
The race marks the 50th running in Bidwell Park. A portion of entry fees supports local high school cross country programs. Timing is provided by Bizz Johnson Racing with gun starts and chip finishes. Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Course and services
All events start and finish at the One Mile Recreation Area in Lower Bidwell Park. The 5k and 10k courses are flat, paved, and free of traffic. The half marathon includes a quarter-mile of single-track trail on each loop. Aid stations are provided as follows: six for the half, three for the 10k, and two for the 5k. Aid station supplies include water, electrolytes, and nutrition gels at specified locations. Restrooms are available at One Mile Recreation, Cedar Grove Park, Pettersen Drive park entrance, and portable units at the start and finish.
Registration, packet pickup and awards
Online registration closes the day before the race; in-person registration is available during packet pickup but not on race day. Packet pickup is offered at Fleet Feet Chico (241 Main St.) with a limited race-day pickup window. Registered participants who register by the specified deadline are eligible for a 2026 race shirt; sizes after that date are subject to availability. Cash prizes are offered to the top male and female in each event. Finisher medals are provided to all half marathon finishers. Age-group awards are given to the top three in each listed age category.
