Event Overview
The Bidwell Classic is a running event held in Chico, California on March 7, 2026. The event marks 50 years of running in Bidwell Park and offers three race distances.
Distances
The event consists of three separate races:
- Half Marathon
- 10k Run/Walk
- 5K Run/Walk
Course Information
All events start and finish at the One Mile Recreation Area in Lower Bidwell Park. The 5k and 10k courses are described as flat and paved, while the half marathon includes approximately a quarter-mile of single-track trail on each loop. The park will be closed to vehicle traffic on race day.
A free and secure bike valet service is provided by Chico Velo.
Registration and Packet Pickup
Online registration closes at 8:00 AM on Friday, March 6, 2026. In-person registration is available during packet pickup on Friday, but not on race day.
Packet pickup is at Fleet Feet Chico (241 Main St.) on Friday, March 6, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. A limited race-day packet pickup is available at the Fleet Feet tent from 6:45 AM to 7:45 AM.
Every registered runner receives a race shirt if registered by February 6, 2026. Shirt size is only guaranteed for registrations received by this date.
Awards and Timing
A cash prize is offered to the top male and female finisher in each race. Finisher medals are provided to all half marathon participants. Age group awards are given to the top three in each category.
Timing is provided by Bizz Johnson Racing. All races use a gun start and chip finish. Overall awards are based on gun time.
Aid stations are provided on the courses, with six for the half marathon, three for the 10k, and two for the 5k. Restrooms are located at several points along the course and at the start/finish.
