Beyond Newcastle
Beyond Newcastle is a trail and ultra running event held in Newcastle, starting and finishing at the Swing Bridge in the city center. Scheduled for April 25, 2026, it offers two distances: a 25km trail suitable for all levels and a challenging 55km ultra. The routes feature a mix of footpaths, parks, woodland trails, riverside paths, and disused railway lines, with some hills and steps.
The ultra route follows the River Tyne to Wylam, then along the Derwent River and through Chopwell Woods before returning to Newcastle. Both courses are fully signed and supported, with feed stations, medical aid, chip timing, and finisher medals, creating a welcoming and scenic running experience.
