Bewl Water Autumn
Bewl Water Autumn is a series of trail races that start near the Bewl Water Visitor Centre in Lamberhurst, Kent, and follow the reservoir route. Courses run on a mix of undulating rural wooded trail and quiet country lanes, with lake views for much of the route.
Distances offered:
- 10 km out-and-back route with a marked turnaround and a 2.5 hour time limit.
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles) including an initial short loop then one 12.5 mile loop, 6 hour time limit.
- Marathon (26.5 miles) with an initial loop then two 12.5 mile loops, 7 hour 9 minute time limit.
- Ultra 50 km (31.25 miles) comprising two 12.5 mile loops plus a final 6.25 mile loop, 8 hour time limit.
Distances were measured with a Garmin Fenix 6X Pro Solar watch and organisers note the marathon is slightly longer than nominal. Trail lines can vary by runner, so measured distances may differ slightly from online figures.
Participant feedback in reviews highlights wet and muddy sections, slippery underfoot conditions, occasional signage issues, remote sections with limited roadside crowds, and well stocked aid stations staffed by volunteers.
