Bewl Water Autumn
Bewl Water Autumn is a biannual race series held near the Bewl Water Visitor Centre in Lamberhurst, Kent. The courses follow routes around the reservoir and run on a combination of undulating rural wooded trail and some quiet country lanes, with views of the lake for much of the route.
The event offers multiple distances:
- 10 km
- Half marathon 13.1 miles
- Marathon 26.5 miles
- Ultra 50 km (31.25 miles)
Route formats are described for each distance. The half marathon begins with a short anticlockwise loop followed by one 12.5 mile circuit of the reservoir. The marathon route comprises an initial one mile loop plus two 12.5 mile circuits. The 50 km ultra comprises two 12.5 mile loops followed by a final 6.25 mile loop. The 10 km is described as an out and back route with a clearly marshalled turnaround.
Distances were measured with a Garmin Fenix 6X Pro Solar watch and are described as as accurate as trail races can be; the marathon is noted as slightly longer and trail lines may vary. Event materials listed include course maps, GPX routes, a route video and a medal for the September event. Runners World has rated this event among the top 10 races in the U.K. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
