Bessemer Hometown Run
The Bessemer Hometown Run is the 36th annual road event held in Bessemer, MI, USA. The program for 2026 includes a 10K and a 2 mile run/walk plus a designated stroller division for the 2 mile distance.
Both races begin at Bessemer City Hall on Sophie Street and Colby Street. Awards are presented for overall male and female winners and for the top two male and female finishers in each age group. A special award is given to the family with the most participants, and there is an award for the top overall stroller in the 2 mile event.
The race is part of the town’s week-long Fourth of July celebrations, which conclude with a fireworks display at dusk on July 4. The broader festival includes multiple activities across the holiday period and is intended to engage families and community members over one or more days.
Age divisions for awards are listed as: 9 & Under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, and 75+. Registration fees appear in two tiers; published amounts include a lower early price and a higher later price. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
