The course is mostly paved with a short hard-packed dirt section near the Old Mill and a short gravel section on Possum Trot Road. The 10K follows Lavender Mountain Road and the Viking Trail with a short unpaved woods section of about 25 yards. The 5K winds past Hermann Hall and the log cabins and returns to the Ford Buildings.
All three main races are USATF certified and open to runners and walkers. Water stations are provided on each course: six on the half marathon (two of those also offer energy gels), three on the 10K, and two on the 5K; stations provide water and PowerAid. Packet pickup is held in the Krannert Ballroom at Berry College the day before and the day of the race. Half marathon participants receive a short-sleeve tech shirt and a finisher medal; 10K and 5K participants receive a short-sleeve 50/50 shirt. Age group awards and post-race refreshments are provided. The half marathon has a four hour course limit.
