The event takes place on Berry College's 27,000 acre campus in Mount Berry, Georgia, and marks its 20th running. Multiple distance options are offered across campus roads, trails, and campus landmarks. School and college volunteers support the event, and the grounds are home to more than 1,200 deer.
Distances:
- Half Marathon, 13.1094 miles
- 10K, 10 kilometers
- 5K, 5 kilometers
- Kids Fun Run, 1 mile
The half marathon follows the "stretch road" to the mountain campus, passing Frost Chapel, Berry College Elementary and Middle School, the Old Mill, the WinShape dairy barns, and returns via Viking Trail to the Ford Buildings. The course is mostly paved with short sections on hard-packed dirt (mile 6-7) and gravel (mile 8-9 on Possum Trot Road). It is described as relatively flat with a few moderate hills. The half is a USATF certified course open to runners and walkers.
The 10K follows Lavender Mountain Road and the Viking Trail through main campus, includes a short unpaved woodland connector of about 25 yards, is USATF certified, and does not allow strollers. The 5K begins and ends near the Ford Buildings, passes Hermann Hall and the log cabins, uses Lavender Mountain Road and the Viking Trail, is USATF certified, and does not allow strollers.
The kids fun run is a 1-mile loop around Clara Bowl and nearby fields; all finishers receive a medal. Participant shirts, race packets, finisher refreshments, and age group awards are part of the event services. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
