Benfleet 15
Benfleet 15 is a 15 mile trail race held at Hadleigh Country Park, Chapel Lane, Hadleigh, Essex. The event takes place in January and covers multi terrain and undulating ground.
The course uses sections of the 2012 Olympic mountain bike course and includes stretches along the Canvey Island sea wall and Hadleigh Downs. Runners should expect muddy and slippery off road surfaces. The course is not suitable for spikes or for wheelchair competitors.
Detailed route maps and GPX files are available to view and download. The race includes a bespoke medal, free photographs after the event, and prizes for leading runner categories. The event is popular and often sells out.
Entry information on the event page lists advance entries at £35 and on the day entries at £38, cash only and subject to availability. This is a cupless event: water is supplied at stations but no disposable cups will be provided. Runners must bring their own receptacle or purchase a reusable cup via pre order or at the race and keep it with them during the event. Runners are also asked not to change in the cafe or toilets and to wear footwear inside the cafe.
