Gosfield Backyard Ultra
Gosfield Backyard Ultra is a Backyard Ultra held in the grounds of Gosfield School at Cut Hedge Park, Halstead Road, Gosfield, Halstead, CO9 1PF in Essex, UK on 28 August 2027. The event uses a last man standing format in which runners must begin a new lap on the hour, every hour, and continue until only one runner remains.
Each lap is 4.167 miles (6706 metres). The event protocol requires runners to complete the loop and be in the starting area before the horn sounds on the hour. Any runner who fails to make the starting area before the horn is disqualified and recorded as a DNF. The race ends when there is only one runner left to start a lap.
Facilities at race headquarters include changing rooms, showers and toilets, WiFi, and power for charging torches or phones. There is a camping area next to the race HQ for runners and teams. The route is fully marked. A small aid station will supply liquids, hot and cold drinks, and a limited selection of fruits, sweets and snacks; extra tables will be available for participants without a support crew.
Every finisher receives a memento. The overall winner receives a unique prize and a cash prize of £150. Entry is listed at £90. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
