Belmar Five Mile Run
The Belmar Five Mile weekend on September 3 and 4, 2027 features a five mile road race with a wheelchair division and separate Kid's Races along the Belmar oceanfront and local streets. The event is presented by the Goodwill Hose Co., the Borough of Belmar and the Jersey Shore Running Club and raises funds to support the volunteer Goodwill Hose Co. emergency fire and rescue operations.
This is the 51st annual running of the event. The race attracts a large field each year, with more than 3,500 participants typical of past editions. In 2026 there were 3,526 registered and 2,916 finishers, participants from 22 states, donations totaling $6,545, and 434 Kid's Race registrations.

Registration fee structure for the five mile race includes an early bird rate of $35 through 5/31/27, a pre registration rate of $40 from 6/1/27 through 8/28/27, and a race week rate of $50. Kid's Race fees include $15 early bird through 6/30/27, $20 pre registration from 7/1/27 through 8/28/27, and $25 race week. Race bibs will be mailed if registration is completed by July 31st to the registered address; Kid's Race bibs and shirts are picked up during race week.
Safety and rules note that the course is restricted to registered runners, wheelchair athletes and official race personnel. Strollers, roller blades, skateboards, pets, bicycles and unregistered participants are prohibited. Bib numbers must be visible and there is a 90 minute time limit for the five mile event. The race is held rain or shine and will be postponed only if weather is dangerous. No refunds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
