Event
The Belmar Five Mile Run is the 50th annual edition held in Belmar, NJ on Friday, September 4 and Saturday, September 5, 2026. The event is presented by the Goodwill Hose Co., the Borough of Belmar and the Jersey Shore Running Club. The program includes a 5 Mile race, a wheelchair division and Kid's Races for ages 1 to 12 at Silver Lake Park.
Registration and entry
Registration was scheduled to open on February 8, 2026. The listed fees for the main race are: $35 Early Bird (2/8/26 through 5/31/26), $40 Online Pre-Registration (6/1/26 through 8/29/26) and $50 Race Week (8/30/26 through 9/5/26). Kid’s Races fees are $15 Early Bird (2/8/26–6/30/26), $20 Pre-Registration (7/1/26–8/29/26) and $25 Race Week/Event Day (8/30/26–9/4/26). Race bibs are mailed if registered by July 31 (kids pick up bib and t-shirt during race week). Kid’s registration includes a finisher medal, t-shirt and kid’s activities.
Course, safety and policies
The course runs along the Belmar oceanfront and local streets. The race course is restricted to registered runners, wheelchair athletes and official race personnel. The event prohibits unregistered participants, unauthorized vehicles, strollers or baby carriers for children under 8, roller blades, in-line skates, skateboards, pets and bicycles. Bib numbers must be visible and only the registered runner may cross the finish line. No backpacks are allowed. There is a 90 minute time limit for the Five Mile race (18 min/mile pace maximum).
