Belmar Five Mile Run : Event overview
The Belmar Five Mile Run is the 50th annual edition held in Belmar, New Jersey, across Friday September 4 and Saturday September 5, 2026. The event is presented by the Goodwill Hose Co., the Borough of Belmar and the Jersey Shore Running Club. The five mile course runs along the Belmar oceanfront and local streets.

The event raises funds for the Goodwill Hose Co., a 100% volunteer fire and rescue organization that provides emergency services to Belmar. The 2026 event also marks the 125th anniversary of the Goodwill Hose Co. Race proceeds and charitable contributions help defray operating costs of the fire company.
Registration will open on February 8, 2026. Fee tiers for the main race and kids races are listed with early, pre-registration and race-week prices; race bibs for the main race will be mailed if registered by July 31. Kids' race bibs and t-shirts are picked up during race week and kids' registration includes a finisher medal, t-shirt and activities.
Safety and logistics: the course is restricted to registered runners, wheelchair-division athletes and official personnel. Strollers, unregistered participants, wheeled devices, pets and bicycles are prohibited. Bibs must be visible. A 90 minute time limit applies to the five mile race.
