2027 Belle Haven 5k & 10k
The event on February 27, 2027 takes place at Belle Haven Park in Alexandria and offers two measured distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
Both courses run on paved sections of the Mount Vernon Trail with views of the Potomac River, forested stretches, and swampy areas. The route has minimal elevation change. The 5k is an out-and-back along the trail; the 10k follows the same route and continues an additional 1.55 miles before a second turnaround.
Support on course includes water stations placed at approximately mile markers 0.9 and 2.5 on the 5k, and at approximately 0.9, 2.5, 4.0, and 5.55 on the 10k. Gatorade will be available at some water stations. Restroom facilities are available on site. Packet pickup is available at the event; participants are advised to arrive about one hour before their race for check-in. There will be no on-site race registration.
This event offers a virtual race option. Walkers and strollers are welcome. Runners receive a finisher's medal, a technical Drifit event shirt, and the race is chip timed. Live results are posted during the race with final results and series points posted the Monday after the event.
The race awards top overall finishers and age group placings and awards series points toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack Series as well as the Winter Series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
