About the race
The Belle Haven event offers chip timed road races on a paved section of the Mount Vernon Trail at Belle Haven Park in Alexandria, Virginia, on February 27, 2027. Points from the races count toward the organizer's Year-Long 5k, 10k, Back of the Pack Series and the Winter Series. A virtual race option is available for those who cannot attend in person.
Distances:
- 5k out-and-back on the Mount Vernon Trail
- 10k follows the 5k route then continues about 1.55 miles before turning
Runners receive a finisher's medal, a technical (Drifit) event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for those registered before February 17; additional shirts may be available afterward on a first-come, first-served basis. Packet pickup is available at the event. There will be no on-site race registration for this race.
Course and on-course services are described as paved with minimal elevation change. The 10k has four water stations at approximately mile markers 0.9, 2.5, 4.0, and 5.55; the 5k has two stations at about 0.9 and 2.5 miles. Gatorade is available at some stations. Restrooms are located at the site.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to the first and second place male and female in standard age groups from 19 and under through 70 plus. The event supports the Paws of Honor charity. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
