Belle Fourche Rodeo Run 5K/10K
The Belle Fourche Rodeo Run is a road race held in Herrmann Park, Belle Fourche, South Dakota. It began in 1978 as a replacement event for a cancelled carnival and is described as the oldest road race in western South Dakota. Originally a 10K, the event now offers both 5K and 10K distances. Proceeds from the race are donated to youth sports and activities in Belle Fourche and the surrounding area.
The race is scheduled on July 4 as part of the Black Hills Roundup. The course starts at Herrmann Park and winds through the town known as The Center of the Nation. Local law enforcement officers take part in the event; some participants from law enforcement may wear full duty kit.
Registration details published for this edition note a registration period that runs from March 30 through July 3 and a registration fee of $25 for each distance. To guarantee a race shirt, registrants are advised to register by noon on Wednesday, June 10. Registration closes on July 3.
