Belfast 2 Dublin Ultra

Belfast to Dublin Ultra - 9 October 2027

This is a continuous ultra running event from Belfast to Dublin held on 9 October 2027 with a total time limit of 30 hours. Competitors must be aged 18 or over. The organisers will provide a GPX file of the route in advance; runners must have a suitable GPX-capable device or app. A tracker link will be provided and trackers must be attached to backpacks.

Compulsory kit must be carried at all times and includes a mobile phone with a power bank, waterproof jacket, foil blanket, head torch, emergency food, visible race numbers and hi viz clothing with reflective strips. Trackers must be returned before the end of the event; loss or failure to return a tracker will incur a replacement charge of £130. Drop bags: two small, clearly marked drop bags are allowed and can only be reclaimed at specified points, both can be collected at the finish.

There are three cutoffs; competitors not reaching these points in time will be withdrawn and must arrange their own transport back to the finish:

• 40 miles - 10pm
• 70 miles - 8am
• 100 miles - 4pm

Short rests of around 30 to 40 minutes are permitted, but stops longer than 40 minutes will result in automatic retirement. Crews are permitted but must remain stationary while a runner uses the vehicle, wear hi viz when outside vehicles and provide contact details to race HQ. Buddies and pacers are not allowed. Alcohol and drugs are prohibited. Competitors must notify race HQ if retiring. Organisers and medics may withdraw participants on safety or cutoff grounds.
