Belair Marathon - Belair National Park, South Australia
The Belair Marathon is a trail running event held in Belair National Park in South Australia. The park was established in 1891 and features historic buildings and pavilions, large trees, and native wildlife. The course uses established park trails and some event-exclusive trails through Belair and nearby Crafers.
The event offers multiple distance options and includes substantial elevation gain. The marathon course has close to 1500 metres of elevation gain and the 50 km ultra route has nearly 1800 metres of elevation gain. Distances listed for the event are:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half Marathon
- Marathon
- 50 km Ultra Marathon
The Belair Marathon is presented as part of the Ultra Series event calendar. Volunteer roles are used to support the event; volunteers are eligible for a free entry into the following year’s Belair Marathon (any distance) or a 20 percent discount for another Ultra Series event. The event materials describe the route as focused on trail scenery and varied terrain rather than on producing personal best times. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
