About the race
Beer City Sacramento takes place Saturday, May 8, 2027 in Old Town Sacramento at 111 I Street, Sacramento, CA 95814.
The event presents multiple running and walking options and a city-centered beer festival. Distances included are:
- Half marathon
- 10K
- 5K
- 1 mile Beer Stroll
The course begins in Old Sacramento, crosses the Tower Bridge, continues around Drake's Barn and the Riverfront, and returns along the American River Bike Path. The Beer Stroll is a one-mile walk around Old Sacramento.
Post-race offerings introduce attendees to local brewers. All runners receive a shirt, a Key to Beer City finisher's medal, a custom tasting glass, and unlimited tasting until noon. Beat the Beast is a beer mile in which participants drink four 12-ounce beers while running a mile and race a Beer City Beast; if the beast catches a participant, that person is out of the race.
An afternoon Shindig at Drake's Barn features music, beer, food, and games; the Shindig is free to join and a ticket includes the first beer. The tasting area is reserved for ticketed guests. Families are welcome, drinkers 21 and over receive wristbands for tasting, designated driver tickets are available, parking is in lots adjacent to Old Town, the event is rain or shine, and pets must remain on leash.
