Beer City Half™ Sacramento is a multi-event running and beer festival held in Old Sacramento on May 3, 2026. The event program includes these distance events:
- Half Marathon
- 10k
- 5k
- Jedi Run - 1-mile walk
The course route crosses the Tower Bridge, goes around Drake's Barn, moves along the Riverfront, and returns via the American River Bike Path. The event location has changed from prior years.
Event features and on-site activities
The event combines running with brewery visits and tastings. Post-race refreshments introduce local brewers; participants receive a shirt, a Key to Beer City finisher's medal, and a custom tasting glass. The Beer Trolley runs between Old Sacramento, Drakes Barn, Jackrabbit Brewing, Fieldwork and other stops, with rides approximately every 45 minutes. Trolley rides are free for registered runners and designated ticket holders; non-ticket riders pay a fee.
Additional activities include a Star Wars costume contest, a Beermazing Race that challenges participants to visit multiple brewers and find clues, a Beat the Beast beer mile where a roaming "Beast" can eliminate runners who are caught, and a Shindig at Drakes Barn featuring music, food, and games.
