Bee Brave 5K Run/Walk - Van Andel Institute
The 19th annual Bee Brave 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for Oct. 3, 2026, at Shagbark Farms in Caledonia, Michigan (7500 Alaska Avenue SE). The event offers three registration options: a timed run, an untimed walk and a virtual 5K.
Registration costs $30 and includes the official 2026 Bee Brave 5K T-shirt; to be guaranteed this shirt, registrants must register by Sept. 22. Early registration closes at 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 21. Late online registration is available for $40 from Sept. 22 through race day. Race registrations are directed to event administration and event materials identify the available registration choices and fee structure.
Bee Brave raises funds for breast cancer research at Van Andel Institute. Since 2016 the series has raised more than $1,000,000 to support research at the institute. All funds raised by Bee Brave events remain in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The events are organized entirely by volunteers and supported by local business sponsors, and race registration fees are applied directly to breast cancer research at Van Andel Institute.
