Bedford Triathlon
Bedford Harriers AC stage a triathlon event in Bedford town centre on Sunday 15 August 2027. The event features two race formats, both using river swim starts and multi-lap runs around the Embankment area.
Distances
- Olympic Distance: 1500 m river swim, 40 km country bike route, 10 km riverside run
- Sprint Distance: 750 m river swim, 27 km country bike route, 5 km riverside run
The Olympic bike route passes through several southern Bedfordshire villages and incorporates parts of the Mens Tour of Britain cycle route introduced from 2025. The Olympic run is a fast, flat multi-lap course of four laps around the Embankment area. The Sprint bike route follows a popular local time trial course that includes a short climb up Hill Foot and a fast return; the Sprint run is two laps of the Embankment.
Entry pricing for 2027 includes Sprint triathlon at £70; Olympic triathlon at £85; Olympic aquabike at £75; and relay entries at £100. Additional charges noted are a BTF race pass for non-members and an optional medal fee; booking charges vary by entry platform. Prizes include top three trophies for Open and Female categories in both distances, age-group winners in 10-year bands, and winners in Open and Female Olympic aquabike.
Planned routes are published for 2027 but may change at short notice. Water quality test results and competitor information have been provided for recent years, and previous results from 2019 to 2026 are available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
