Bedford Triathlon
The Bedford Triathlon, organised by Bedford Harriers AC, runs two races in Bedford town centre. The event offers an Olympic distance and a Sprint distance, both using river swim sections and multi-lap riverside runs.
Distances
- Olympic Distance: 1500m river swim, 40km country bike, 10km riverside run
- Sprint Distance: 750m river swim, 27km country bike, 5km riverside run
The Olympic bike route passes through Southern Bedfordshire villages and includes sections used by the Mens Tour of Britain cycle route from 2025. The Olympic run is a fast, flat, four-lap circuit around the Embankment area. The Sprint bike uses a popular local time-trial course including the small climb up Hill Foot and a fast return; the Sprint run is two laps of the Embankment area. Swim, bike and run courses for 2027 are planned but may change at short notice.
Entry categories and prices listed for 2027 include Sprint triathlon at £70; Olympic triathlon at £85; Olympic aquabike at £75; and relay at £100. Additional fees include a BTF race pass for non-members, a medal purchase option, and no online booking charges when entering through RaceResult. Prizes include top-three trophies for Open & Female categories in both distances and winners for Open & Female Olympic Aquabike.
