Bedford Triathlon Team Relays
The Bedford Triathlon Team Relays is a team-based triathlon held at Box End Park, Kempston, Bedford (MK43 8RQ). The event uses a three-person team relay format in which each team member completes a swim, a bike and a run in turn. All changeovers take place in transition. The event is limited to 144 teams.
Format and course

- Run 5 km
The swim and the run take place in and around Box End. The swim is a straight out-and-back across the lake with an individual, spaced swim start. The bike is a single-lap 23 km route on local roads with an internal loop, mixing country lanes and faster sections. The run follows the venue’s pre-marked 5 km route in the opposite direction.
Entry, rules and facilities
Teams must consist of three athletes. Team members must be at least 15 years old by 31 December (14-year-olds are eligible if their next birthday is before the end of the year). Participants must hold a British Triathlon membership or a single-use race pass; there is an entry fee of £183 per team for BTF members and an additional charge for non-members. Prize categories include top three Open (male), Female, Mixed, and Veteran teams for members aged 45 and over. Only people who are female sex at birth may enter the female category; all athletes are eligible for the open category.
On-site facilities include parking, clubhouse toilets and additional portable toilets. A mobile medical crew will be on standby. There are no aid stations on the route; a tea tent with refreshments is available. The course record is 3:36:22, set in 2025 by a club team.
