Event
The Bedford Triathlon Team Relays is a team-based triathlon held at Box End Park, Kempston, Bedford (MK43 8RQ). The event is organised as a 3-person team relay and is in its 13th year. It is open to individual teams and clubs, with a limit of 144 teams. The event is sponsored by Zone3 and the organisers say they are working with Women in Tri / Fund Her Tri UK to encourage more female participation.
Course, format and facilities

Each team has three athletes who each complete the swim, bike and run in relay, with all changeovers taking place in transition. The swim and run take place at Box End; the bike is a 23 km single-lap route on local roads with an internal loop. The swim uses an individual, spaced start arranged by anticipated swim times. Participants must hold a British Triathlon race licence by being a Core or Ultimate annual member or by purchasing a single-use Race Pass. Team members must be 15 years old by 31 December (younger athletes whose birthday falls before year end may be eligible). Helmet use is mandatory. A mobile medical crew will be on standby. Toilet facilities are in the clubhouse and additional portable toilets are provided close to transition. There are no aid stations on the route; a tea tent and homemade cakes are available at the venue.
