Bedford Triathlon Team Relays
Organised by Go Beyond Events at Box End Park, Bedford, the Bedford Triathlon Team Relays is a team-based sprint triathlon for teams of three. The format requires each teammate to complete all three disciplines in sequence, with teammates tagging each other between legs. Athlete order is the same for swim, bike and run.
Distances per athlete:
- 750 m swim (Box End Lake)
- 23 km bike (single-lap on local roads)
- 5 km run (flat route around Box End)
The swim uses a staggered start. The bike course follows a clearly marked single lap on a mix of countryside lanes and faster sections. The run is a flat route around Box End. The recorded course best is 3:30:22 (Greenlight PT, 2026).
Teams compete across Open, Open Veteran (45+), Female, Female Veteran (45+), Mixed and Mixed Veteran (45+). Prizes are awarded to the top three teams in each category. Entry is priced at £183 per team; non-BTF team members must also purchase a RacePass for £8. A 10% discount applies for five or more teams. Entry is limited to 144 teams.
Participation requires British Triathlon membership or a RacePass, and athletes must be 15 years or older by 31 December of the event year. British Triathlon race rules apply, including compulsory helmets.
On the day there is a pre-event race briefing shared via YouTube, on-site medical support, toilets, a transition area and refreshments. There are no aid stations on course.
