Beckley Half Marathon & 5K
Active Southern West Virginia stages the Beckley Half Marathon and 5K on September 26, 2026, with the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine serving as the start and finish location. The half marathon follows the scenic rail trail, continues uptown, and returns to the rail trail for the finish. The 5K is an out-and-back course.

Event services and participant items include chip timing, water stations on course, finish-line photos, a commemorative short-sleeve unisex t-shirt, and finisher medals for all runners. Age-group awards are presented for male and female finishers in these groups: 0-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. Kids 12 and under may run the 5K at no charge.
A post-race meal is provided to participants and features bean soup, cornbread, and West Virginia pepperoni rolls. Organizers do not mail race bibs, shirts, finisher medals, or awards unless a $10 donation is provided to cover shipping and handling. Registration options note that participants may add RegShield event insurance for covered refunds, and a referral program is available through the race platform.
