Beautiful Bingley
Beautiful Bingley is a chip‑timed trail running event that follows the Leeds and Liverpool Canal just outside Bingley. The route is an out‑and‑back on a flat, even towpath with good underfoot trail; elevation is flat apart from the canal locks. The event offers multiple distance options and is licensed by the Trail Running Association under UKA rules.
Distances available:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- 10 Mile
- Half Marathon
- 20 Miler (two 10 mile laps)
- Marathon (two half marathon laps)
The course is marshalled and signed, with feed and drink stations roughly every three miles. Finishers receive a bespoke medal and additional treats. Organisers aim to be cup‑less at feed stations, so runners are asked to use a reusable cup or bottle. Large over‑ear headphones are not permitted; bone conducting or one in one out earphones are acceptable.
Logistics note: car parking, registration and toilets are at Bradford and Bingley Rugby Club, Wagon Lane BD16 1LT. After registration participants walk to the Fishermans Pub Garden for the event start and finish, about a ten minute walk. Bingley train station is approximately 1.5 miles from registration and the start/finish area. There is no dedicated parking at the start; on‑road parking and town centre parking are available.
Additional operational details: downloadable GPX routes are provided, withdrawals should be reported to the nearest marshal, and transfers or deferrals can be self‑serviced up to 72 hours before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
