Beat The Sunset 5K Road Race
The Beat The Sunset 5K Road Race is a Sunday evening social road race held in the Northamptonshire countryside. The event was originally created by Desborough Races and was taken over by Go Beyond in 2023. In 2025 the race welcomed representatives from 26 clubs and 130 unaffiliated runners; in 2024 it featured representatives from 24 clubs.
The course is a one lap, fully closed roads road race covering 5K. The event meeting point is Targetcraft Archery, West Lodge Rural Centre, Desborough, Kettering NN14 2SH. The route runs from the start down to a junction, then through Desborough and toward Market Harborough before turning onto Brampton Wood Lane. The final section includes a fast 700 m downhill to the finish. Total elevation change is approximately +67 and -101 feet.
There is no water station on the course; bottled water is provided for each finisher at the finish and participants are asked to recycle bottles. Toilet facilities are available at Targetcraft Archery. Free parking is provided at the venue.
Entry details published for the event include an online entry closing on Friday 24th July or when the entry limit of 400 is reached. Entry fees listed are £16 for affiliated runners and £18 for unaffiliated runners. Prizes are awarded to the first, second and third male and female finishers.
