Beat the Heat Maryland Indoor 5K : Arundel Mills Mall, August 8, 2027
This event is an indoor running event held inside Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover, Maryland on August 8, 2027. It offers multiple distance options and a capped field with registration available in advance.
Distances offered:
- 5K course of four laps around the mall (approximately 5.1 km when running the far-left side).
- 5K Elite field for runners able to maintain a sub 7:30 minute pace and who can finish under about 24 minutes.
- 1 mile Family Fun Run/Walk using the mall’s outside ring (distance approximately one mile).
All finishers receive a medal and a shirt; shirts are not guaranteed for registrations after August 1. The race is cupless: cups of water will not be provided. Dozens of water fountains are on site and participants must use a sealed, closable container for fluids. Strollers are allowed only in the Fun Run/Walk and must start at the back. The 5K course includes a few tight sections and two small ramps per lap; runners may use a three-step staircase in those sections if preferred.
Packet pick-up details will be provided later. Post-race activities include fitness demos, recovery stretches, and training tips. Parking is free; the Maryland Live! Casino garage and the Food Court Entrance (Entry 2) are recommended. Some mall entrances will remain locked until events conclude; use Entries 1, 2, and 3 for access.
