Beast of the Backroads is a weekend bike and run event in Longview, Texas, held on a private ranch and organized by Texas Outlaw Rides LLC. Logistics, rules and prizes
Packet pickup is available on the Friday before the event and at the ranch during the weekend. Courses run Longview to Hallsville to Harelton to Marshall and back to Longview, with start and finish at the same location. Aid stations and water stations are placed on specified miles for each distance; stations offer food, drinks, electrolytes, pickle juice and ice. Riders must carry a communication device and wear an approved helmet; headlights, taillights and high-visibility clothing are recommended. Ruck weight rules: over 150 lb = 30 lb, under 150 lb = 20 lb. The 100-mile event awards cash prizes to the top five men and women; other events offer podium placements, awards and finisher medals.
