Bear Country 5k & 10k, Brevard NC
The Bear Country races use flat, family friendly courses in the mountain town of Brevard, North Carolina. Both the 5k and 10k start and finish at Oskar Blues Brewery and follow sections of the Brevard greenway with mountain views.

Registration for the 5k and 10k includes a long sleeve race shirt, a wooden finisher medal, professional chip timing, a donation to Mountain Roots, and one beverage from Oskar Blues Brewery for participants 21 and older; non alcoholic options are available. A virtual entry option is offered and race swag can be mailed within the United States.
Strollers are allowed on the course. Dogs are welcome at the brewery but are not permitted to run with participants; service animals are allowed with prior approval and supporting documentation. Running with an animal leads to disqualification from award categories and official timing.
Awards include overall prizes in male, female and nonbinary categories with Fleet Feet Asheville gift certificates for top finishers and age group awards presented as pint glasses across standard age brackets. Virtual runners are not eligible for awards.
Event parking uses multiple large lots with volunteers directing traffic and an overflow gravel field lot for additional parking. The organizer maintains a no refund policy and allows transfers or changes up to five days before the race; after that cutoff, the organizer must be contacted for assistance.
