Bear Country 10k

Bear Country 10k & 5k

The Bear Country event in Brevard, North Carolina features timed 10 km and 5 km races that start and finish at Oskar Blues Brewery. Courses run along the Brevard greenway and pass mountain views. Course maps are provided for both distances and are subject to change.

Race offerings:

• 10 km
• 5 km
• Kids Cub Crawl, ~0.25 mile on pavement with bib and medal

Standard registration includes a finisher medal, a long sleeve race shirt, chip timing, a donation to Mountain Roots, and one Oskar Blues beer or an N/A beverage. Virtual entries are available; virtual participants receive mailed swag within the United States but are not eligible for awards.

Strollers are welcome. Dogs are allowed at the brewery but are not permitted to run with participants during the race. Service animals may be allowed with prior approval and supporting documentation. Running with an animal during the event results in disqualification from awards and official timing.

Awards for the 5k and 10k include Fleet Feet Asheville gift certificates for top overall finishers and pint glass age group awards for the top three male and female times in established age brackets. The event does not offer refunds and does not allow deferrals; transfers to virtual or to another runner or distance are permitted up to five days before the event.
