Bear Country 5k & 10k : Brevard, NC
The Bear Country event offers road races on flat, family friendly courses in Brevard, North Carolina, with start and finish at Oskar Blues Brewery. The routes use the Brevard greenway and include mountain views. Strollers are welcome. Dogs may be on brewery property but are not permitted to run with participants; service animals are allowed with prior approval and supporting documentation submitted more than five days before race day.

- Kids Cub Crawl : 0.25 mile untimed fun run for ages 12 and under; parents or guardians may run alongside; cub crawlers receive a bib and finisher medal.
Included in 5k and 10k registration are a long sleeve race shirt, a wooden finisher medal, professional chip timing, a donation to Mountain Roots, and one Oskar Blues beer (21+) or a nonalcoholic beverage. Virtual options are available; mailed swag is for US addresses only. Virtual runners are not eligible for awards.
Awards include overall prizes in male, female, and nonbinary categories (gift certificates to Fleet Feet Asheville), masters and grand masters categories, and age group pint glass awards for top three finishers in listed age brackets. Event parking uses multiple large lots with volunteers to direct traffic; an overflow gravel/field lot is available. The event maintains a no refund policy and does not allow deferrals.
