Bear Country 5k & 10k : Brevard, NC
The Bear Country event offers road races of two distances that start and finish at Oskar Blues Brewery in Brevard, North Carolina. The courses run along the Brevard greenway and are described as flat and family friendly, with mountain views along the route.

The event includes a Kids Cub Crawl for children 12 and under; this is an untimed, short fun run. Parents or guardians may run alongside cub crawlers. Youth participants receive a bib and a finisher medal.
Registered participants in the 5k and 10k receive a long sleeve race shirt, a wooden finisher medal, professional chip timing, a donation to Mountain Roots, and one beverage from Oskar Blues Brewery (beer for those 21+; nonalcoholic options available). A virtual option is offered; organizers will mail shirt, medal, and bib to U.S. addresses.
Strollers are allowed on the course. Dogs are welcome at the brewery but are not permitted to run with participants during the race; service animals may be allowed with prior approval and supporting documentation. Event parking uses three large lots with volunteer direction and an overflow gravel/field lot on Mountain Industrial Drive.
