Beale Street Murphey Mile
The Beale Street Murphey Mile is a one-mile road race held in downtown Memphis on July 11, 2026. The race is presented as part of the Ed Murphey Classic and starts and finishes near 200 Beale Street, with the course passing landmarks such as FedExForum, historic Beale Street, and The Orpheum.
The event distance is 1 mile. Participants are organized into waves by expected pace, and race day packet pickup is available at Handy Park. Pre-race packet pickup is scheduled for Thursday, July 9 at Breakaway Midtown, 2109 Madison Ave, Memphis, TN 38104.
The event includes professional track and field competitions staged on Beale Street, including the Buck Ewing Beale Street Pole Vault and the World Shot Put Series, which features elite-level competitors. After the race, awards are presented for Top 3 Overall Male and Female, Overall Master Male and Female, Overall Grand Master Male and Female, and Top 3 Male and Female in each age group: 9 & Under, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.
