Beacon to Beach
Beacon to Beach is a linear spring trail running event on 18 April 2027 that starts on Selworthy Beacon and finishes on Minehead Beach. The event is part of the West Somerset Running Festival and is organised from The Adventure Centre in Minehead, Somerset.
Distances:
- 10.3 km linear route for seniors 16+
- Youth relay total 10.3 km split 3, 2, 2, 2 and 1.3 km
The youth relay is for 8–16 year olds and is run as five legs with a supervising adult in sight of the children; 16–17 year olds may enter the adult route with parental consent. Under 8s cannot take part.
The route uses technical trails, woodland paths and descends to the sand on Minehead Beach. It will be waymarked with black arrows on a bright yellow background and bright yellow flags. Trail running shoes are strongly advised. The event is cupless: water is available at the event hub, at each relay leg start/finish and at the finish; participants should bring a drinking vessel. A collapsible running cup is available to purchase at registration.
Race numbers are collected at event HQ on the morning of the event and shuttle buses will transport participants to the start. Trained first aiders will be present around the route. Dogs may not compete but are allowed as spectators if kept under close control. Photography will be taken on course, with profits from sales donated to Exmoor Search and Rescue.
