Be Fearless Trail Marathon
The 10th annual Be Fearless Trail Marathon takes place in Squamish, British Columbia, within the traditional territories of the Squamish First Nations. The event is centered at the Alice Lake Provincial Park campground. Participants can compete in person or join via a virtual registration option from any location.
The event offers several local race distances:
- 42 km (Marathon): features 1592 m of ascending elevation with a mix of technical and non-technical trails through forests and along river banks.
- 21 km (Half Marathon): includes 830 m of elevation gain on various Squamish trails.
- 11 km: offers 320 m of elevation gain for those exploring trail running.
- 1.5 km (Fun Run): a non-technical rolling path around Alice Lake for all ages.
The marathon course includes six aid stations, the half marathon includes three, and the 11 km course provides one. All stations are stocked with water, medical supplies, and snacks. This is a cupless event, and runners are required to carry their own hydration vests or reusable cups. A shuttle service is provided to transport participants from the off-site parking at Don Ross Middle School to the start and finish line.
Participants receive a custom finisher's medal, and overall awards are presented to the top three finishers in each distance. Complimentary post-run massages are available on-site. For every registrant, a 5.00 dollar donation is made to the Canadian Mental Health Association's STEPS Youth Program. Please note that dogs are not permitted at the event.
