Event overview
The Alice Lake race is the first stop in the 5 Peaks British Columbia Trail Running Series, held at Alice Lake Provincial Park in Squamish. The event includes timed and non-competitive divisions, a hiking division led by pace leaders, and on-course support such as water and electrolyte drink at the start, finish, and one or more aid stations. The event is cup-free, so participants should carry a reusable drinking receptacle for runs expected to last longer than an hour.
Course and logistics
Courses circumnavigate the Four Lakes, often following shoreline and weaving through forested, undulating terrain. The lakes and trail sequence include Alice Lake, Lost Lake, Fawn Lake, and Edith Lake. The Sport and Enduro routes share the lakeside section before splitting after a short climb near Edith Lake. The Sport course descends via single track along Hop Creek back to the finish. The Enduro course climbs 50 Shades of Green to the Rupert Trail, descends through Tazers and the dog house feature, then returns via Mashiter Creek Trail and the original route past Edith Lake to the finish.
Designated participant parking is at the Black Bear Road parking area with event shuttle transport to the start/finish. Portable toilets and a bathroom building are available near the start area. The event disallows dogs, headphones, strollers or baby joggers, and nordic poles except in the hiking division.
