Harriers Elk/Beaver Ultras
The Prairie Inn Harriers stage the 39th Annual Harriers Elk/Beaver Ultras on Saturday, May 9, 2026 in Victoria, British Columbia. The event is run on a 10 kilometre trail loop around Elk and Beaver Lakes and features multiple ultradistance divisions.
The course is entirely on trails, very flat, and described as having good footing. Runners and walkers complete repeated laps to reach certified distances. Timed splits are available every 10 kilometres.
Distances
- 100 Kilometres : certified, 10 laps.
- 50 Miles : certified, 8 laps plus 470 metres.
- 50 Kilometres : certified, 5 laps.
- 40 Kilometres : walking division only, 4 laps.
The route is accurately measured with a Jones Counter and certified splits are provided. The event serves as a qualifier for some 100 Mile races. ACU rules apply and pacers are not permitted. All competitors must finish within 12 hours.
The 2026 start and finish are at Hamsterly Beach at the north end of Elk Lake. Elk/Beaver Lake Park is about 10 kilometres north of downtown Victoria and about 20 kilometres south of the airport and ferry terminal. Water is available at four locations, washrooms at five, a sheltered clothing drop, food and electrolyte drinks at the start/finish and mid loop, and on site medical service. Trophies are awarded to top men and women and finishers receive medals. Online registration opens April 1, 2026 and the first 200 entries will be accepted.
