Bayou City Classic 10K and 5K Fun Run
The Bayou City Classic is a downtown Houston running event held at Hermann Square by City Hall. The program for this edition includes a 10K and a 5K fun run with separate wheelchair divisions. The 10K course is certified by the Road Running Technical Council of USATF. Both courses start and finish near Hermann Square and include loops through downtown and sections along Allen Parkway.

Entry fees are structured by date with multiple tiers: an early bird price, an early price, a regular price, and a race morning price. Race day procedures require online registration and payment by credit card before requesting a race bib; paper registration is not accepted. There is no switching of events on race day. The event is organized by the Houston Area Road Runners Association, an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Proceeds are donated to the Houston Parks & Recreation Department to support park improvements and tree preservation. Over the previous eight years, the race has donated more than $250,000 to Houston parks.
