Event overview
The Bayou City Classic 10K and 5K Fun Run will hold its 49th running on March 7, 2026 in downtown Houston at Hermann Square by City Hall. The event is presented by the Houston Area Road Runners Association (HARRA) as a non-profit fundraiser. Proceeds are donated to the Houston Parks & Recreation Department and other local charities; the race reports more than $250,000 donated to parks over the previous eight years.

The event offers the following race options:
- 10K
- 10K - Wheel Division
- 5K
- 5K - Wheel Division
Separate hand-cycle/pushrim divisions are provided alongside run/walk divisions. The event features a costume competition called the "Centipede" and a post-race gathering with food and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Packet pickup details are to be announced. Volunteers receive a race tech shirt and may receive service hour certificates.
Registration and organization
Registration is managed online through the race platform. Fee tiers by date are listed by the organizer: Early Bird through August 31, 2025; Early through January 12, 2026; Regular through March 6, 2026; and a race-morning rate. Discounts are available for HARRA members, military/first responders, and athletes with disabilities. The event is organized and staffed by volunteers under HARRA, a 501(c)(3) organization.
