Bay Front Run, Hercules - October 4, 2026
The Bay Front Run is an annual community running event that takes place along the Bay Trail in Hercules to support local schools. The route begins and ends at Bayfront Boulevard and follows Bayfront Boulevard to the Bay Trail entrance at John Muir Parkway, then continues along the Bay Trail through Hercules to Rodeo, with a turnabout at the end of the trail. The 10K course uses a double loop. The course runs along the shoreline and offers views of the bay.
Race options include multiple distances and a kids fun run. The 5K and 10K are chip timed and require a bib for official scoring; results are posted after the event. Awards are given to the top female and top male in the 5K and 10K. A community festival follows the run with local entertainment, music, food trucks, small businesses, and community organizations.
Practical notes include early packet pickup the day before at The Dylan Apartments, 2200 John Muir Parkway, Hercules, and additional packet pickup and registration on race day at Sanderling and Bayfront Boulevard. Entry fees are listed for each event; registrations by September 15 receive an event t-shirt, and the first 325 registrants receive a finisher medal. Parking is available on Bayfront Boulevard and on John Muir Parkway. Registration fees are non-refundable but may be transferred to another person.
