Two Tunnels Races
The Two Tunnels Races are a series of running events based at Brickfields Park in Bath, held on multiple dates in 2026–2027 including 16 August 2026, 21 February 2027 and 6 June 2027. The programme offers a wide choice of distances and route types across city, hilly and return ticket formats.
Distances available
- Colourburst family races and fun runs
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half marathon
- Marathon
- 50 km solo and pair options
- 5 x 10 km relay
The route network uses the restored Devonshire Tunnel, 408 m long, and Combe Down Tunnel, 1672 m long, both lit and surfaced as a shared use path. Return Ticket routes are almost entirely tarmac, Hilly Ticket routes mix tarmac and trail, and City Ticket routes use tarmac, canal towpath and river path. Courses are clearly marked and marshalled.
Support and rules include no drinks station on the 5 km, a small number of feast stations on the 10 km, several stations on the half marathon, and nine stations for the marathon and 50 km. There is a 3 hour cut off to start lap 2 of the marathon and an 8.5 hour cut off for the 50 km; other distances have no formal cut off but pure walkers are not eligible. The 5 km, return 10 km, return half and 50 km are officially measured and the events are affiliated to UK Athletics.
Facilities at the event include toilets, food and coffee vans, bag drop and bike racking. The organiser donates £1 per runner to Sustrans and supports fundraising for the charity. Buggy runners may use some routes, canicross is not permitted. All finishers of 5 km and longer distances receive a 10 cm by 10 cm two sided event medal.
