Two Tunnels Races - August 2026
The Two Tunnels event in Bath takes place around Brickfields Park in Twerton, Bath, UK. It is organised by Relish The Great Outdoors, which stages running events in the South West of England. The programme includes a wide range of race distances and formats held on city and shared path sections.
The route passes through two restored railway tunnels beneath Bath. The Devonshire Tunnel is 408 m long and the Combe Down Tunnel is 1,672 m long. The tunnels were sealed until April 2013 and were converted over a seven year period by the Two Tunnels Group and Sustrans into a well lit, well surfaced shared use path for runners, walkers and cyclists. The organiser states these tunnels provide the longest underground section used in UK races for each race distance.
Event races include the following distances and formats:
- 500 m Colourburst
- 2 km Colourburst
- 5 km
- 10 km with two route options
- Three different half marathons
- Marathon
- Ultra marathon
- 50 km solo
- 50 km pair
- 5 x 10 km relay
The event start and finish are at Brickfields Park, which includes a children’s playground and space suitable for post-race picnics. The organiser contributes £1 per runner to Sustrans and more than £30,000 has been raised to date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
