About the race
The Barwon Heads Running Festival is scheduled for Sunday 20 June 2027 at Lahey Square, Barwon Heads. The event offers multiple race distances and uses a flat out-and-back course along Thirteenth Beach Road.
Race distances:
- 21.1 km Half Marathon
- 10 km Run
- 5 km Run/Walk
- 1 km Kids Race
The Half Marathon and 10 km use self-managed wave starts based on expected finish time or pace; the 5 km uses a single mass start. The 1 km Kids Race is not officially timed, awards are not given, and parents may run alongside younger children at no additional charge. Every participant who crosses the finish line receives a finisher's medal. Trophies or medals are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female across listed age categories for the timed events.
Each competitor receives a race bib with an integrated timing chip; official results are based on chip time. Water and 32GI sports drink are provided approximately every 2.5 km and at the finish. Toilet facilities and portable toilets are available at the event site and along the course. First aid services will be on site and roving the course. Bike parking and a clothing bag drop are provided; participants are advised not to leave valuables.
