Barrow Boogie 5K and Fun Run
The Barrow Boogie 5K and Fun Run is a community running event held in Athens, Georgia at Barrow Elementary School, 100 Pinecrest Drive, Athens GA 30605. The event includes a short Fun Run and a measured 5K course that both start and finish on Rutherford Street. The Fun Run consists of two loops around the school. The 5K runs through the neighborhood between Morton Avenue and Southview Drive.
A combined registration discount is available for participants who enter both events. Early packet pickup is scheduled the day before in the school cafeteria, and packet pickup and on site registration are also offered on race day.
Awards are provided for both events. Fun Run awards are given to the top three boys and girls age 12 and under and to top finishers in the age divisions 5 and under, 6-7, 8-9, and 10-11. 5K awards include Overall Male and Female, Masters Male and Female, and age group awards in five year increments from 10 and Under through 80 and Over.
The event supports the Barrow Elementary PTO. Timing and finish line management are provided by a race services company. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
