Bark in the Park 5k & 1 Mile Woof Walk 2026
Bark in the Park is an annual event presented by the Animal Care Society at Beckley Creek Park, 1421 Beckley Creek Parkway, Louisville KY 40245. The event is in its 23rd year and is part of the River City Races Run the 502 series.
Distances
- 5k with an in-person option and a virtual 5k option
- 1 Mile Woof Walk
The day combines a professionally timed 5k and a more leisurely one mile walk on the scenic trails of The Parklands of Floyds Fork, Beckley Creek Park. All finishers in both distances receive a finisher medal. A short sleeve cotton blend race shirt is provided to registrants.
An on-site festival follows the running events with pet friendly vendors, live entertainment, an interactive lure course for dogs, costume contests, kids activities, and a Pet of the Year contest. Awards in the 5k are given to the top three male and female overall finishers and to the top three in standard age groups from 9 and under through 80 and over.
Packet pickup is available before the event at Ken Combs Running Store, 4137 Shelbyville Rd, and on race day at the PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Pavilion in Beckley Creek Park. The event supports the Animal Care Society and accepts both cash donations and donations of needed items via listed vendors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
