Bark in the Park 5k & 1 Mile Woof Walk 2026
Bark in the Park is scheduled for September 19, 2026 at Beckley Creek Park, 1421 Beckley Creek Parkway, Louisville KY. The event is organized by River City Races and benefits the Animal Care Society through donations and fundraising activities.
The event offers the following distances and options:
- 5K professionally timed
- Virtual 5K completed individually with results submission window
- 1 Mile Woof Walk walk, jog, or run with dogs
A family of four registration option provides a reduced combined fee compared with individual entries. Pre-race packet pickup is available at Ken Combs Running Store, 4137 Shelbyville Rd, on Friday, September 18 from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Race day packet pickup begins at the PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Pavilion in Beckley Creek Park.
Race participants receive a short sleeve cotton blend race shirt and all finishers in both the 5K and the 1 Mile Woof Walk receive a finisher medal. Awards in the 5K are given to the top three male and female overall finishers and to the top three in age groups ranging from 9 and under through 80 and over.
A family friendly festival follows the event with pet friendly vendors, live entertainment, an interactive lure course for dogs, costume contests, kids activities, and a Pet of the Year contest. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
