Bark in the Park 5k & 1 Mile Woof Walk 2026
Bark in the Park 2026 takes place at Beckley Creek Park in Louisville, KY on September 19, 2026. The event supports the Animal Care Society and is part of the River City Races Run the 502 series.
Participants can choose between these distances:
- 5 km professionally timed 5K event
- 1 mile Woof Walk for a more leisurely pace
A family-friendly festival follows the running and walking activities. The festival program includes pet-friendly vendors, live entertainment, an interactive lure course for dogs, costume contests, kids activities, and a Pet of the Year contest.
There is a virtual 5K option. Virtual packets are not mailed but can be collected at the in-person packet pickup or on race day. Packet pickup is located at the PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Pavilion in Beckley Creek Park near the start and finish area.
Race entries have tiered pricing based on registration dates, and a Family of Four registration option is offered with a $10 savings off individual fees. Registered participants receive a short sleeve cotton blend race shirt. A finisher medal is planned but listed as TBD. Awards for the 5K include top three male and female overall and top three in multiple age groups from 9 and under through 80 and over.
