About the race
Bark in the Park 5k & 1 Mile Woof Walk is a community running and walking event held at Beckley Creek Park in Louisville, KY on September 19, 2026. The event benefits the Animal Care Society and is part of the River City Races Run the 502 series.
The event offers multiple options:
- 5k
- 1 mile Woof Walk
- Virtual 5k
The in-person event includes a family-friendly festival with pet-friendly vendors, live entertainment, an interactive lure course for dogs, costume contests, kids activities, and a Pet of the Year contest. All finishers in both the 5k and the 1 mile Woof Walk receive a finisher medal. Participants are provided a short sleeve cotton blend race shirt.
Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers in the 5k and to the top three in age groups beginning with 9 and under and continuing through 80 and over. A Family of Four registration option provides a $10 discount off standard registration.
Pre-race packet pickup is available at Ken Combs Running Store on the Friday before the event. Race day packet pickup is located at the PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Pavilion in Beckley Creek Park.
The event accepts donations and also lists frequently needed items with options to donate through online retailers for direct delivery to the Animal Care Society. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
