Bark in the Park 5k and 1 Mile Woof Walk 2026
Bark in the Park takes place on September 19, 2026 at Beckley Creek Park, 1421 Beckley Creek Parkway, Louisville, KY. The event offers a professionally timed 5k and a 1 Mile Woof Walk on the scenic trails of The Parklands of Floyds Fork, Beckley Creek Park. A virtual 5k option is also available and can be completed at the participant's chosen location.
The day includes a family friendly festival with pet friendly vendors, live entertainment, an interactive lure course for dogs, costume contests, kids activities, and a Pet of the Year contest. All finishers in both the 5k and the 1 Mile Woof Walk receive a finisher medal. Race shirts are short sleeve cotton blend.
Packet pickup is available before the event at Ken Combs Running Store and at the PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Pavilion in Beckley Creek Park on race day. Awards in the 5k include top three male and female overall and top three in the following age groups: 9 and under, 10 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 60 to 64, 65 to 69, 70 to 74, 75 to 79, and 80 and over.
The event supports the Animal Care Society and provides options to donate items via online retailers. Bark in the Park is part of the River City Races Run the 502 series.
