Bark in the Park 5k & 1 Mile Woof Walk 2026
Bark in the Park is an annual event organized by the Animal Care Society, held at Beckley Creek Park within The Parklands of Floyds Fork in Louisville. Now in its 23rd year, the event features scenic trails and a festive atmosphere for participants and their pets. The event is part of the River City Races Run the 502 series.
Participants can choose from several event options:
- 5k
- 1 Mile Woof Walk
- Virtual 5k
The 5k is a professionally timed race, while the 1 Mile Woof Walk offers a more relaxed pace. For those unable to attend in person, the Virtual 5k allows completion at an alternative location with time submission available online between September 25 and September 28. Registered participants receive a short-sleeve cotton blend shirt and a finisher medal.
The day includes a family-friendly festival featuring pet-oriented vendors, live entertainment, and an interactive lure course for dogs. Other activities include costume contests, kids' programming, and the Pet of the Year contest. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers in the 5k, as well as the top three in age groups ranging from 9 and under to 80 and over. Packet pickup is located at the PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Pavilion in the start and finish area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
