Barefoot Half Marathon Shrewsbury
The Barefoot Half Marathon is a point to point road race of 13.1 miles held on Sunday, September 6, 2026. The course begins near the Sterling Municipal Offices and the Conant Free Public Library and finishes with a lap around the Shrewsbury High School athletic track.
The route follows Route 12 South/Worcester Street for about 5.9 miles, then turns left onto Route 140 South/Maple Street and West Boylston Street for about 2.9 miles. Runners continue past views of the Wachusett Reservoir, turn right onto Route 70 South/Main Street for about 2.4 miles, then left onto Holden Street for roughly 0.9 miles before entering the high school and completing one track lap at the finish. Runners must follow course markings, police instructions, volunteers, and race-day signage.
Running without shoes is optional; participants may run barefoot, in minimalist shoes, or in traditional running shoes. The event supports a scholarship program and lists fundraising activity, including an entry showing Nap Briye Inc has raised $87.76 toward its goal.
Practical race information includes Saturday bib pickup on September 5 at Shrewsbury High School, on-site parking at the high school on race day, and a complimentary shuttle from the high school to the starting area.
