Barefoot Half Marathon : Shrewsbury 2027
The Barefoot Half Marathon is a point-to-point road race of 13.1 miles that runs from Sterling to Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. The course begins near Sterling Town Hall and the Conant Free Public Library and finishes with one lap around the athletic track at Shrewsbury High School, 64 Holden Street, Shrewsbury MA 01545. The start area is near Emma’s Café at 37 Main Street, Sterling MA.
The route follows Route 12 South/Worcester Street for about 5.9 miles, turns left onto Route 140 South/Maple Street and West Boylston Street for about 2.9 miles, continues past scenic views of the Wachusett Reservoir, then follows Route 70 South/Main Street for about 2.4 miles. The course continues onto Holden Street for about 0.9 miles before entering the school grounds and the track.
Race-day amenities include free parking at Shrewsbury High School and a complimentary shuttle from the school to the starting area. Saturday bib pickup is available at the Shrewsbury High School track field to simplify race morning logistics. The event includes a scholarship program to support the next generation and a fundraising organization listed on the event page.
Volunteers are needed to support bib pickup, runner check-in, water stations, course guidance, the finish area, photography, and post-race activities. The published registration fee for the half marathon is $49.99. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
