Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle

The Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle is a spring running event in Chicago that serves as a kick-off to the local racing season. The event features a course that weaves through Chicago's Loop, with both the start and finish lines located in Grant Park. The event is part of the Chicago Distance Series and includes various participation options for runners and walkers.

Participants can choose from several distances and formats:

  • 8K Run
  • 2-Mile Walk
  • The Mile

The 8K Run has specific entry requirements, including a minimum age of 8 years old on race day. Participants in this distance must be able to maintain a pace of 15:00 per mile to complete the course within the required time limit of 1 hour and 15 minutes. An Adaptive Program is available for athletes with permanent visual, intellectual, or physical impairments.

Registered participants receive a Nike race shirt, a festive knit hat, and an official finisher's medal. The event also includes a Post-Race Party where a drink ticket for one beer is provided to participants aged 21 and older. A team element is available through the Deloitte Open Team Competition, which allows 8K Run participants to compete in groups.
