Bandera Endurance Trail Race
Bandera Endurance Trail Race takes place in early January at Hill Country State Natural Area in Bandera, TX. The event offers multiple distances and a youth mile and uses a main 50k loop as the foundation for all courses.
- 100k (two full 50k laps)
- 50k (one full 50k lap)
- 25k (shared start with a mid-course cutover)
- Youth 1 mile
The 100k is a standalone event and serves as a Western States Endurance Run qualifying race for runners who complete the 100k within the specified qualifying time. All laps run counterclockwise. Expect roughly 3,300 feet of elevation gain and loss per 50k lap and about 6,600 feet for the 100k. The terrain is rocky and technical, with sotol and short, steep hills; one section near YaYa Aid Station is largely flat.
Full aid station support is available at all stations with hot and cold options at primary stations and regular food and drinks elsewhere. The series is cupless; runners should carry their own cup or bottle. Drop bag service is provided to two aid stations for 100k entrants only; there is no drop bag delivery for 50k or 25k. Pacers are allowed for 100k runners after completing one 50k loop, with registration required.
Primitive camping is available near the race hub and park access and camping fees apply for non-racers. Crews and spectators are permitted at aid stations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
