Bandera Endurance Trail Race
Bandera Endurance Trail Race takes place at Hill Country State Natural Area in Bandera, Texas on January 9 to 10 2027. The event offers multiple trail distances and a youth mile.
Distances:
- 100 km
- 50 km
- 25 km
- Youth 1 mile
The main loop measures about 50 km. The 100 km is two full laps, the 50 km is one full lap, and the 25 km follows the same start before cutting over after the Equestrian aid station to rejoin the full course. Runners can expect roughly 3,300 feet of elevation gain and loss per 50 km lap and about 6,600 feet for the 100 km. All laps run counterclockwise.
The terrain is technical and rocky with sotol and steep short hills; the only consistently flat section is near YaYa aid station, called the Race Track. Course markings include caution tape, yellow arrows, and confidence markers. Aid stations provide full support at all locations, with hot and cold options at Lodge, Equestrian, and Chapas and regular food and drinks at Boyles, Nachos, and YaYa. The series is cupless so runners should carry a cup or bottle; collapsible SpeedCups will be available at packet pickup.
Additional details: the 100 km has a 25 hour cutoff and serves as a Western States qualifier for runners who finish the 100 km within 18 hours and enter the Western States lottery. Pacers are allowed for 100 km runners after completing one 50 km loop. Drop bag delivery is offered to select aid stations for the 100 km only. Park access, camping, and RV options are available at the state natural area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
