River Road Run
The River Road Run takes place in Comfort, Texas, with the event hub at Comfort Park near the town gazebo. It is the first race in the Texas Hill Country Series and offers several distance options that use roads and riverside sections through the local hill country.
The event distances include:
- 13.1 mile half marathon
- 10 mile SKYDOME
- 10k
- 5k
- 0.05k fun run
Comfort is described as a small historic town with many buildings constructed before 1910 and a designated National Historic District. Course routes run through rolling hills and provide access to Cypress Creek and the Guadalupe River, including shady streets and low water crossings.
Awards and timing: all finishers receive a medal, and series finishers who complete all four races receive an additional medal. Awards are given 1st through 4th in the 5k, 10k and half marathon, with age categories in five year increments from 14 and under up to 90+. First overall awards for male and female, plus masters and super masters distinctions, are based on gun time. Age group awards are based on chip time because starts are conducted in waves.
Packet pickup is available at Fleet Feet Culebra Commons in San Antonio and also at the start line on race morning. The event policy states there are no refunds; transfers incur a fee and no transfers are allowed after race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
