Baltonsborough Five Mile Road Race
The Baltonsborough Five is an annual five mile road race held in Baltonsborough, Somerset. It is part of the Somerset Series and is included in the Somerset County Athletic Association county championship. The event normally takes place in August on the late summer bank holiday.
The meeting includes several races on the same day. Distances on offer include:
- 5 miles main road race
- 1.5 miles combined fun run
- 1.5 miles junior race
- Children's Rainbow Run with powder paint along the course
A community show follows the races; the show includes the Rainbow Run. In December the organisers stage a Christmas Pudding charity race over the same course as the five mile event. Profits from the December race are donated to charity and participants receive a Christmas pudding; fancy dress is encouraged for that event.
