Frome Running Festival
The Frome Running Festival takes place in Somerset, offering a selection of road races through the historic town and surrounding areas. Organized by RunThrough, the event supports Dorothy House Hospice Care and features a variety of distances held on closed roads.
The available race distances include:
- Half Marathon
- 10k
- 5k
All courses begin and end at the Old Showfield, which is the largest open green space in Frome. The routes lead participants through the picturesque historic town centre. The Half Marathon course consists of a single loop that extends into the Somerset countryside, passing the English Heritage site of Nunney Castle. The 10k and 5k routes remain within the town of Frome.
The event is Run Britain and UKA licensed with officially measured courses. The routes include a mixture of rural, residential, and town centre streets. One notable feature is the final mile, which follows a downhill curve through the heart of the town centre toward the finish line. The festival is open to runners of all abilities and has previously been recognized in the Racecheck Awards.
Participants can find a course map, travel information, and road closure details provided by the organizers. Results from previous years are maintained for reference, and professional photography is typical for the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
