Baltimore Running Festival
The Baltimore Running Festival offers a variety of road races through the diverse neighborhoods and landmarks of Baltimore. Participants can choose from several distances and participation methods:
- Marathon: 26 miles
- Half Marathon: 13 miles
- 10K: 6.2 miles
- 5K: 3.1 miles
- Balti-MORON-a-thon: 16.2 miles (5K and Half Marathon combined)
- Team Relay: Distributed marathon course for four participants
The marathon course passes through the Inner Harbor waterfront, Federal Hill, and Fells Point. The route also goes through the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, past the penguin exhibit. Between miles 16 and 20, the terrain includes elevations compared to Heartbreak Hill, followed by a flat loop around Lake Montebello. The final five miles are primarily downhill, leading to a finish at Pratt Street near the USS Constellation.
The half marathon begins at the Inner Harbor. The course eventually merges with the marathon route, with both groups of runners sharing the same path to the finish line at the waterfront promenade. The 5K is held on a flat course focused on the Inner Harbor area. Virtual options are also available for those who prefer to complete their chosen distance at a different location. All participants receive an Under Armour shirt and a finisher medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
