Frostbite Trail Race : Balbirnie Park, Markinch
The Frostbite Trail Race takes place on 10 January 2027 at Balbirnie Park in Markinch, Fife. The route is set on park paths and woodland trails and covers approximately 4 to 5 miles. The course includes mud, water crossings and small undulations.
All finishers receive a bespoke race medal. Prizes are awarded to the first three overall male and female finishers and to the first male and female in the following age categories: Over 40, Over 50, Over 60 and Over 70. Spot prizes of craft beer are available on the day.
Race headquarters are at 252 Memorial Hall, Betson Street, Markinch KY7 6AA, where number pick-up, toilets, bag storage and limited changing facilities are provided. There is strictly no parking within Balbirnie Park; parking is available at the primary school car park south of the hall and on surrounding streets.
The event is pre-entry only. Entry fee is £11.00 (price valid until 08 January 2027 23:59). Free race entry transfers are permitted up until seven days before the race; transfers must be arranged between entrants and then notified to the race organiser. Running with another person's bib is not permitted.
The route and distance may be altered for weather or forestry work, and cancelled races will be rescheduled. The event is permitted by the Association of Running Clubs and held under ARC rules.
