Event overview
Badass Texas is a set of road races held in Waco, Texas on May 24, 2026, with expo and a free shakeout run on May 23. The event offers multiple distances:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10K (6.2 miles)
- 5K (3.1 miles)
A virtual option is also available; virtual participants receive a tech shirt, finisher medal, and customizable bib and may upload results between May 24, 2026 and August 29, 2026.
Course and services
All courses start and finish at Heritage Square, 311 Austin Ave, Downtown Waco, and run along the Brazos River and through Cameron Park and East Brazos Park. Routes are USATF certified and interactive course maps are provided. The half marathon course includes aid such as hydration, gels, and restrooms. Event services include a bag check, free parking, VIP parking for purchase, a beer garden for attendees over 21, post-race music, and a finisher festival.
Extras, awards and logistics
A free Shakeout Run and a pool party at the Even Hotel are scheduled around race weekend. Finishers receive a tech tank or muscle shirt, a finisher medal, and a custom bib. Awards include 1st-3rd overall male and female, 1st overall masters male and female, and top 3 in multiple age groups from 9 and under through 80+. Awards must be claimed in person. Packet pickup is available at several locations in the days before the race, including Fort Worth Running Company, Dallas Running Company (Southlake and Plano), and Waco Running Company.
