BackRoads Run to Port Stanley, 22 August 2026
BackRoads Run to Port Stanley is the annual social run that finishes at Port Stanley Beach. The event takes place on 22 August 2026 in Port Stanley, Ontario at 162 William St (Port Stanley Beach). The run is free and open to the community, but registration is mandatory and the field is capped at 300 runners; the previous year reached capacity with 275 participants.
Distance options span a wide range from 3.5 km to 33.6 km.
Organizers use staggered start times assigned through registration based on desired pace and start location. The classic route follows Colonel Talbot / Sunset Drive into Port Stanley, turns right at the lift bridge, and proceeds to the beach. Water and fueling stations are provided along the route, and volunteers manage bag drop services. XACT Nutrition will supply on-course fuel, and On will offer shoe trials with about 7.5 km remaining. A finish line archway marks the end of the route.
BackRoads supports Good Neighbours Canada through the Step4Water program; donations fund clean water projects such as boreholes, with each project costing about $5,000 and including community training. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
